The Pirates ran in the Mighty Explorers Challenge #5 on January 23^rd. Our girls ran well with 6 top three finishes. They had 1 third place finish from Lucy Froelich (triple jump), 3 second place finishes from our 4×400 meter relay team, and Sydney DeBerry had 2 second place finishes in high jump and long jump, and 3 first place finishes from Sydney DeBerry (55 meter dash), Amber Jones (high jump), and our 4×200 meter relay team. Sydney DeBerry did great this meet with 2 second place finishes and a first place finish. The men had 16 top 3 finishes. Our third place finishes are from Naseem Alston (55 meter hurdles), Edward Townes (high jump), Assad Alston (triple jump), and Nick Butler (shot put). The second place finishes were Cody King (55 meter dash), Ahmed Sinada (1600 meter run), Nathan Hayes (high jump), Trey Cousar (long jump), and Kris Matthews (triple jump). We had 1 first place finishes from Trey Cousar (300 meter dash), Ian Shanklin (1000 meter run), Trey Cousar (high jump), Nathan Hayes (triple jump), and all of our relay teams. This was an insane meet from our boys who totaled up 16 top three finishes with 7 of them coming from first place.
