Inside The Classroom

Inside The Classroom

Mr. Lee’s fourth period class, Electrical II and III (which is his advanced class), is making their

own motorized bike. The students are given a bucket of parts, a full size bike, and no

instructions. They are to use their knowledge of electrical engineering to complete the bike.

They will have two weeks to complete the bike. If the bike works, they pass the project. The

bike, if made correctly, should go about 35mph. When asked why he wanted his students to

build this bike, Mr. Lee said, “They do this for pride of ownership.” What he means is that his

students get to say that they actually built the bike, and they will feel extremely proud of

themselves. For Mr. Lee’s advanced students, this is their last project. Mr. Lee’s classes help

out around the school for their first project of the year. The second project they complete for

themselves. Some things they have done for the school include repairing a cello for the band

and making steps in a car for someone who was handicap. If you are interested in joining this

class in the future, you must have completed the Electrical Core class and Electrical I.
