Editorial: Appreciate Your Parents And Teachers

As a senior, and with my year coming to a rapid close, I would like to give some advice to the anxious freshmen and underclassmen. Please appreciate all that your teachers and parents are doing for you, and listen to them! They know what they are talking about. Teachers spend so much time preparing lessons and are completely dedicated to educating you and your peers. You should appreciate this. I have had so many amazing teachers who have all taught me so much during my time here at Page. I can tell you that most of the teachers genuinely care about you and want the best for you, so please don’t think otherwise, and listen to them. Teachers are much wiser than you, and you should definitely listen to them, especially because of all they do for you. Paying attention in class will be to your benefit; teachers are much wiser than you. Your teachers want the best for you, and that is evident in the way that they are there all the time to help you. Your parents also will help you along the way with your high school experience, so please listen to them as well. I wish that I had appreciated my parents more, but I really think that I have usually appreciated most of all that my teachers do for me, and had positive interactions with them for the most part. When your parents encourage you to do something for school please listen to them. They know what they are talking about. My mother encouraged me to join clubs and be involved in the school with the National Honor Society. You are much more naïve than they are. I do not think I would be where I am without the kind help from my teachers and parents. I am lucky enough to have gotten into my top school for college next year, and I could not have done it without them. I encourage all of you underclassmen, and even juniors, to please appreciate those in your lives who are trying their hardest in order to see you succeed. They want the best for you, which truly is a beautiful thing, and you should not take them for granted. You will regret it if you don’t.
