Black History Expo Adding to Our Culture of Excellence

The Expo for Black History month was held March 1st in the G wing lobby. Mrs. Goins’ African American History class picked some aspect to explore and explain to students that came to see it.  It was really cool and unique that they did this and could explain everything to us.  The reason they decided to get this Expo together was because they wanted students to know more about black history and Mrs. Goins thought it would be a great idea for students to do this. Some of the African Americans that the students choose were Muhammad Ali, Harriet Tubman, Jesse Owens, and many more.  My personal favorite was the one about X-men because I enjoy watching Marvel movies and was cool to see that it was a part of Black history. It relates to Black history month because the Civil Right Movement with Martin Luther King, Jr and Malcom X inspired Marvel X-men comic writers to create Professor X and Magneto.
