David Massey, once a Navy soldier, now a teacher for Page High School. Mr. Massey enlisted in the Navy, signing multiple 6 year Navy contracts. A day in his life contained tasks depending on where he was stationed at the time. Most mornings meetings are held by his supervisors gathering with his co-workers. Massey originally enlisted to delay college, considering he didn’t want to work after high school. His GPA was higher than most students in his class though, which is unusual. Other than trying to delay college, Massey also wanted to enlist because of the benefits which included: earning money, funding college later, and “seeing the world.” Unfortunately, being in active duty and relocating made it hard for his family to see him as often as they wanted. Massey also had to keep himself in shape. So, after being discharged, he started to apply for jobs in the Guilford County School District and an assistant principal from Page reached out soon after.
