Vivienne Molina shares her journey adapting to a new school, making friends and discovering a welcoming community at Page Highschool.
Moving into a new town can be challenging especially when it means leaving behind everything familiar. For Vivienne Molina, a new junior at Page High School, the transition from a small town in New Jersey was a mix of anxiety and excitement. “It was very sad saying goodbye to my friends, the town, and the state I grew up in,” Vivienne said. “But I realized I had to accept it and try to make the best out of my new situation” Initially nervous about being the new student, she feared being singled out or not making any friends.
However, her first day at Page quickly eased her worries. “Everyone here was so nice and welcoming, and I ended up meeting so many new people and growing them into nice friendships,” she said. Vivienne also praised the teachers and staff at Page for their dedication. “From my old school, it seemed like they didn’t really care, but here the teachers truly care about the students individually,” she explained. Beyond the supportive environment, Molina is excited about the classes offered at Page that weren’t available at her old school, giving her new opportunities to learn and grow.
Reflecting on her experience, Vivienne advises incoming students, “There is nothing to worry about because everyone and everyone here is very welcoming.”
