China dramatically expanded its rare earths export controls on Thursday, adding five new elements and extra scrutiny for semiconductor users as Beijing tightens control over the sector ahead of talks between Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping. The world’s largest rare earths producer also added dozens of pieces of refining technology to its control list and announced rules that will require compliance from foreign rare earth producers who use Chinese materials.
Guilford Co. Board of Elections to do recount between two Greensboro City Council candidates
The Guilford County Board of Elections announced on Wednesday, Oct. 8 they will be conducting a recount for the primary election results of two Greensboro City Council candidates. They will be recounting the votes for T. Dianne Bellamy-Small and Carla Franklin, each getting 9.35% and 9.26% respectively. The vote will be recounted at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10. The recount will happen on the lower ground level of the New Guilford County Courthouse.
