Many people recognize the iconic voice of James Earl Jones. From Darth Vader to Mufasa his voice has been recognized for many years. He sadly passed away at the age of 93 on September 9th 2024. 

He was born on January 17, 1931. He was raised by his maternal grandparents and struggled with a stutter in his early life. His stutter left him self-conscious and isolated from the other children. He served in the U.S. military for 2 years and later studied drama at the University of Michigan.

His first film was “Dr. Strangelove” which was released in 1964. His role in the film was Lt. Lothar Zogg. This movie was the highest rated film that he was a part of. This movie is a satire of the Cold War about a demented U.S. general that is frustrated by his sexual impotence and threatens the Soviet Union with a nuclear strike while a group of politicians tries to stop it from happening. 

The films that gave him international fame was the Star Wars franchise. Many people recognize his voice from the films as Darth Vader. He felt pleased to be a part of the Star Wars franchise but saw himself as, “just an observer.” 

When he died the Celebrity Net Worth predicted him to be worth about 40 million dollars. James Earl Jones’s favorite role was as the South African Reverend in “Cry, the Beloved Country”.
