America has integrated music into its culture for decades. In 2024 a music legend was lost, Kris Kristofferson. Country legend, Willie Nelson said, “Kris Kristofferson was a great friend and one of the greatest song writers of all times. Kristofferson was an American singer, songwriter, and an actor. He recently died on September 28th, 2024 and within his life he had many achievements. He released an eponymous solo album in 1970 with Monument Records, after that he was mainly recognized for his song writing. In 1971, three out of five Grammy awards for the best country song were written by Kris Kristofferson. That same year, Cash’s recording of Kris Kristofferson’s song “Sunday Morning Coming Down” was named song of the year by the Country Music Association. He then went on to win his very first Grammy in 1971 for the best country song: “Help Me Make It Through The Night.” He then ended up recording tons of his own albums during the same year, including one album which was in collaboration with another country singer called Rita Coolidge, who he eventually married from 1973 until 1979; this same album ended up achieving sales around half a million copies. Kris Kristofferson was an influential person in general, but his achievements will always be something to brag about and look back on and have good memories of his times as an individual.
