Have you ever just wanted to do nothing at all? Good news, there’s a day where you could do this! This day is celebrated on January 16th. The whole purpose of this day is to literally do nothing. You aren’t even supposed to celebrate the day. Here at Page, our students have been working extremely hard. I know way more than a handful of my peers have been talking of how stressed out they are, and I think it’s fair that our students deserve a bit of a rest break, or mind cleanse. The nothing calendar says it was created in 1972 by San Francisco columnist, Harold Pullman Coffin. He wanted to give people a day to just relax, and especially a day where no one would have to worry about celebrating or honoring holidays. This is perfect, since this day falls right after all the holidays from the end of the year. It’s sort of a break from partying. Since this isn’t a public holiday, schools are still open, and so are jobs. But, as you walk the halls of Page next year on January 16th, listen to some music, and be as peaceful and worry less as you can in memory of this national day.
