National pet day is on April 11th. Pet lovers love this day to celebrate, because a pet can really bring happiness to your life. Fun fact: One in five (18%) of those with pets said one or more of their pets was certified as an emotional support animal. Something you can do on National Pet Day is take supplies to pets in shelters. Help a friend with pets who is recovering from an illness. Adopt a pet. Give your pets extra love with a bath and rub down, giving them gifts of health, tasty treats, fun toys, and quality time together.
Another fun fact: Gotcha Day ( which is a day that we celebrate a child being adopted) is the anniversary of your pet’s adoption day. So whether you’re celebrating one week, one month, or annually, your pet’s “Gotcha Day” is a great opportunity to acknowledge and thank our pets for the love and joy they bring into our lives every day. And also, every year, the last Sunday in April is National Pet Parents Day. Veterinary Pet Insurance (VPI) started this national pet holiday in 2007 after being inspired by so many of their policyholders considering their pets as being part of the family.
