Have you been enjoying winter? Have you been playing in the bit of snow North Carolina received since 2022? Well boy do I have some news for you! It’s decided, by our trusty groundhog Phil, that we will have 6 more weeks of winter. Since yesterday, February 2nd, when the groundhog saw his shadow, people have had mixed emotions on the matter. What even is groundhog day about and what does it mean you may ask, and I have the answers! The tradition goes as the following; Our famous, or infamous groundhog Phil emerges from his burrow, if he sees his shadow, we get 6 more weeks of winter, and the groundhog goes back into his burrow for the next 6 weeks. If he doesn’t, spring comes early. This day is celebrated every year on February 2nd. This year, a shadow was sought. Don’t get rid of that winter coat just yet, you still have 6 weeks left!!
