30 thousand Homes in Greensboro
Greensboro has been growing fast, with more growth comes new people, with new people comes the need for housing. According to https://myfox8.com/news/north-carolina/greensboro/greensboro-needs-30000-homes-in-the-next-five-years/ , Greensboro needs 30k new homes in the next 5 years to keep up with our speedy growth. Have we made any progress? Well, the city manager, Trey Davis launched an initiative to get ⅓ of the homes started. This initiative called the “Road to 10,000” is intended to have a work group in the first 30 days. Apparently, we are behind though due to the lack of community members helping. In response to this, Davis tells us not to worry, and that “Part of the Road to 10,000 is ensuring that as we grow as a community, … we are growing the right way,”. With this we can assure that this will not happen overnight, and may take more time than expected. I mean, have you ever built 30,000 houses overnight? Davis also says that a new website will be launched over the summer with updates on the “Road to 10,000” plan. Overall, patience is extremely important.
