Victory With A Scare
Our Page Pirates football team has gotten off to a great start this season. We currently sit at 3-0 and are ranked #16 in the state. Both the high ranking and our undefeated record can be a testament to the success we have wielded so far this season. Another thing to consider is the score of our games up to this point; we have won by 24 or more points in all 3 games and have also eclipsed the 50 point barrier in every game. Our first win came with an away victory 53-22 at Davie County. Our next victory was over last year’s state champions, the Northern Nighthawks, 52-14. Our most recent victory came over High Point Central, 51-27. This game seems like a normal victory in the box score, but the entire Page family held their breath when Quarterback Will Jones went down late in the second due to an injury that many believed to be season ending. Will was taken to the hospital mid-game for a diagnosis, and we all awaited an update. Will shortly returned in a walking boot, but the injury was nowhere near as severe as many expected. Will is almost back to full health and is expected to play in their next game against Ragsdale. Our next game is today at Ragsdale at 7:30, come out and support!!
