Shrine Bowl: North Carolina vs. South Carolina
Every year, the Carolinas host a televised football event known as the Shrine Bowl. The Shrine Bowl honors the best players from North Carolina and South Carolina by selecting them to play in an event similar to the Pro Bowl in the NFL. Page’s wide receiver Diondre Overton and kicker Harrison Kiser were both selected to play. Kiser has the opportunity to represent all of North Carolina as a kicker as he was the only kicker selected to be on the roster. Kiser greatly appreciated the opportunity, stating “It’s an honor to be chosen to represent North Carolina and most importantly Page High School.” Receiver Diondre Overton is one of 4 receivers on the roster, a huge honor that solidifies his ranking as a top receiver in the state. Overton, like Kiser, is excited for the opportunity, saying that “It’s a great feeling to be selected and it will also be a great experience for me and Kiser.” Both players are clearly honored to be selected and will represent Page in a big way. The game will be played at Wofford college on December 19th, everyone be sure to tune in.
