North Carolina State University has surprised the nation with their fast track ascend. The NC State mens basketball team stunned top-seed North Carolina, 84-76, in the championship game of the ACC tournament, winning the programs first title since 1987. However they didn’t stop there. The determined team started off the NCAA tournament with their first win against Texas Tech with a score of 80-67. This set the pace for what has looked to be a highly successful tournament for the group of men with their consistent wins against teams like Oakland, Marquette and their astonishing win against Duke this past Sunday, March 31st. Duke ended the first half with a six point lead of 27-21, before falling to NC State ultimately ending the game 76-64. The team will play Saturday April 6th, for their fourth ever appearance in the final four with their last one being in 1983. They play against Purdue, No. 1-seed, making NC State, No. 11 seed, the underdog yet again. However with what we’ve seen so far, the Wolfpack have proven themselves to not be scared of a fight. The team is on the top of the world right now and with this momentum, I don’t see a stop in sight. Let’s see if the team’s persistence, work and the howling of the Wolfpack fans, can lead this team to their first NCAA tournament win since 1983.
