Barton College hosted a Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for creative teenagers in grades 7-12. Lou Wright won the Silver Key for one of her art pieces. Nearly 350,000 artworks were submitted and more then 90,000 were noticed and put in local exhibits and ceremonies. Ava Besecker, a Page senior, won honorable mention with her artwork, “Surviving in a World of Plastic”. Top artworks and writing at the regional level were sent to national stage at barton college where more than 2,800 students earn nation metals. National Medalist and their teachers celebrated at the National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall New York City.
