Last week, Page welcomed its students for the 2022-23 school year. For both new and returning students, there were some changes and adjustments.
Some students said navigating the school was a challenge. Dealing with crowded hallways and finding their classes in the midst of heavy traffic was a struggle for many, especially underclassmen. Fortunately, teachers and staff were posted throughout the school to help students.
Some students found the introduction of the metal detectors at school entrances a bit daunting, including upperclassmen who had to adjust to the new entry process. Many also found the concept of meeting new teachers and classmates to be nerve-wracking.
While all of these adjustments might be intimidating at times, there are also new things to be excited about. Students said they are looking forward to joining clubs and sports, as well as attending sports games to cheer on Page. Some may find meeting new people to be intimidating, but others are excited about making new friends and switching it up. As for the upperclassmen, juniors are learning how to enjoy the new freedom of leaving campus for lunch without being late due to shortened lunch times, while seniors are already looking forward to graduation.
Overall, we hope students can learn to adjust and enjoy the new school year!
