What started as casual practice sessions among friends has grown into one of Page High School’s most exciting student led music projects. The Wreck, a band formed by Finley Rassato, Sam Dewy, Luke Belcher, and Owen Sammet, began their journey performing in backyards and small gatherings. They quickly gained traction from the locals, and after a lineup change that brought in Thomas Shaw as lead vocalist, the band’s sound and energy remained the same even with the switch.
As their confidence and fan base grew, The Wreck made the leap from backyard gigs to performing at local venues in downtown Greensboro. Notable stops included The Flat Iron, where their dynamic performances drew enthusiastic crowds. Their most recent show at Mac’s Speed Shop marked a major milestone not just for the band, but for the school community. The event was a fundraiser for Page High School, with all proceeds going directly toward school improvements.
In addition to their music, The Wreck has embraced the entrepreneurial spirit by selling merchandise at several of their shows, including the Macs Speed shop show which all merch profit went to the school . Their efforts have not only showcased their talent but also their commitment to giving back. With passion, creativity, and a growing presence in the local music scene, The Wreck is proving that high school bands can make a real impact both on stage and off.
