The Pirates’ Junior Varsity team defeated their known rivals, the Grimsley Whirlies, on January 18th in an exciting game as the Pirates won with a last second three pointer by Whit Edward. When asked how he felt after hitting the wining shot in a rivalry game Whit said, “I didn’t think much before I shot it. At first, I thought for sure I had missed. I got a lucky roll and it somehow went in. It was crazy especially because it was against Grimsley.” It was an extraordinary for the Pirates making them 11-2 in the season.
