November Students of the Month

copeland-jones-stunovCopeland Jones is the female Student of the Month for November. She is very involved with the Page community and gives the class of 2017 a good name by being the number one student in their class. She said, “Having a good relationship with my teachers and staying on top of my work allows me to keep my sanity while being in the IB program and being number one. I am stressed pretty much all of the time, but I have found that playing sports, exercising, and spending time with my friends allows me to de-stress. It really helps that I have a strong relationship and support system in my family, friends, and teachers.” Copeland then explained to us that on top of all of her schoolwork and sports, she earns money by babysitting occasionally. Copeland said that she likes to give back to the community by “volunteering at the soup kitchen, as well as through the clubs I am in at Page.” Copeland excels in the club department at Page, she is “a member on Student Council, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Spanish National Honor Society,” Even though she is unsure where she would like to attend for college, after high school she intends on going to a college that is close to home. She elaborates that she is “interested in majoring or minoring in Spanish and maybe even something in the medical field.” Congratulations on all of your hard work and accomplishments, Copeland!

devin-bakerOur male student of the month for November is Devin Baker. Devin said that he handles being an AP student as well as a senior Young Life leader like “any normal high school student would. I do my schoolwork along with my other extracurricular activities and ensure I have enough time to complete all of my tasks. While being a senior leader can be tough at times having younger people always looking up to you and everything you do, it is an incredible opportunity and I love every minute of it.” Devin then told us that he did not have time for a job with all of his extracurricular activities. With his busy schedule, Devin assured us that he always made sure to spend time volunteering in the community. He said, “I love doing volunteer work. On Sundays, I usually serve breakfast to hungry families at my church, as well as help out at daycare.” Devin is very involved in the Page community; he told us, “Other than being a senior leader, I am the president of the Acapella Club as well as the president of the SMART Club.” While Devin is unsure of where he wants to go specifically for college he does know that he “aspires to go to college and get a degree in nursing.” We are lucky to have you in our Page Pirate family, best of luck, Devin!
