Club Corner: Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books is run by Mrs. DeLellis and meets every other Thursday morning at 8:15 in the media center. For the club, students are given a list of 15 random books and are required to read as many as possible before the competition against other schools in Guilford County. The club recently had a competition this past Friday, March 17th.  Page ended up in 4th place after a tie breaker round against Northern. The competitions include answering specific questions about a certain book and if answered correctly, the team receives points and gets to move onto the next round, while if answered incorrectly it then goes to the other team as a rebound. Battle of the Books benefits students in the sense that it expands their intelligence by reading numerous books, helps their public speech abilities, memorization skills, and they get to meet new people and make friends that have the same enjoyments as them, which is to read. If you’re interested in joining this club, meet with Mrs. DeLellis in the media center.
