Reviewing Mediterranean Cuisine in Greensboro

Reviewing+Mediterranean+Cuisine+in+Greensboro

Mediterranean cuisine has become increasingly popular as many Americans try to move towards a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle. This cuisine includes the cooking of all the countries that border the Mediterranean Sea: Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Israel, Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia and Morocco. When I think of Mediterranean food, there are two restaurants in Greensboro that stand out: Mythos Grill and Cava. While Cava is a chain restaurant with locations across America, Mythos Grill has only two locations, both of which are in Greensboro.

Both restaurants serve similar dishes, although the service style is different. At Cava, you order at the front and receive your food right away, much like at Chipotle. This is because many of the dishes require personalization, so you can choose your toppings from the display in front of you. However, Mythos Grill has full service during dinner. During lunch, you order at the front and the food is brought to you once it is prepared. The service at Mythos Grill has always been strong and welcoming, as many of the smiling faces have stayed with the restaurant for years.

My go-to meal at Mythos has always been the chicken souvlaki with a Greek salad, pita, and a drink. I’ve been going to Mythos for at least the past seven years, and this dish has consistently been delicious. I’ve only started going to Cava more recently, as the Wendover location opened in November of 2021. My favorite meal is the Greek chicken pita, which can easily be compared to Mythos’ chicken souvlaki dish. They are effectively the same dish but in different forms; Mythos’ meal is basically a deconstructed version of the pita wrap at Cava. Both dishes are rich and flavorful, and I highly recommend them. While I do not normally deviate from these dishes, the other foods at the two restaurants look just as appetizing. Both restaurants also have good reviews. Cava has 4.5 out of 5 stars on Google whereas Mythos Grill is slightly ahead at 4.7 out of 5 stars. If you are looking for a quick Mediterranean meal in Greensboro, Cava and Mythos Grill are two excellent options.
