Principal and Teacher Appreciation Begins On May 1

Principal+and+Teacher+Appreciation+Begins+On+May+1

May 1 was National Principals’ Day for 2021, and Monday began National Teacher Appreciation Week. Page celebrated Mr. Naglee on Friday with balloons and notes of appreciation.

Page has had many memorable principals, including Mr. Celendenin and Dr. Terry Worrell who both, like Mr. Naglee, achieved the Principal of the Year award. Mr. Clendenin was the third principal of Page, and he oversaw its segregation. Similarly, Dr. Terry Worrell received the award in the 2002-2003 school year.

This week, consider thanking your teachers for all that they do. If you want to go the extra mile, you can take a look at the internet’s top gift ideas for Teacher Appreciation Week:

  • School supplies
  • Gift cards (Amazon, Office Depot, Target, Barnes & Noble, Michaels, and Starbucks)
  • Their favorite treat (Donuts from Krispy Kreme? Maybe a pack of Oreos?)
  • A small plant for their room

However, if you’re on a budget, there are many other ways to let your teacher know that you appreciate them.

  • Tell them that you are thankful for them!
  • Offer to help out around their classroom (cleaning desks at the end of the day, doing menial tasks like cutting or stapling)
  • Write a kind note

Thank you to the teachers of Page for everything that you do and to Mr. Naglee for always encouraging students to dream big!
