Bailey Kargo, senior guard for the Lady Pirates, reached the 1000 point milestone with a three pointer against rivals Grimsley Whirlies. When asked about how it felt to achieve this, Bailey said, “I had no idea I was this close and was really surprised when they brought me out. It was really cool but I definitely couldn’t have done it without the help of my teammates and coaches along with the support of my family.” Not only did she become one of the few players to reach this prestigious milestone, she did it in just three seasons, something only one other player (Jan Arnold), in Pirate history has been able to do. Bailey was unable to play her sophomore year because of a torn ACL, and for most this is a major setback, but Bailey returned to score 381 points her junior year to build upon the 295 she had as a freshman. She already has 324 points this season with plenty of games left to play. Next season she will be bringing her scoring talents to the University of Delaware and will be looking to have the same success at the next level.
