Coached by Robert Hogewood the Pirates’ Women’s Tennis Team starts the season off with a 1-4 record for the season! Coach Hogewood was not able to attend the first team win for the season against Northern Guilford on August 23rd due to the opportunity he had to work for the U.S. Open in New York. Looking at their record, I was determined to know some of their strengths and weaknesses. Junior tennis pirate, Gianna Hill, said “One of our weaknesses would have to be wanting everything to go perfect when it comes to matches. The reality is we’ll lose some and we’ll win some. Our strengths however, definitely outweigh our weaknesses. When it comes down to it everyone on the team is a fighter!”. What’s better than a strong team of fighting pirates? Good luck to our Women’s Tennis Team serving it up against Smith High School on Monday, October 3rd!
