Pirate Swimmers Find Success at State Meet

On Friday, February 10th, qualifying Pirates swam in the NCHSAA 4A State Championship. The Girl’s team, only consisting of four swimmers (Mckenzie Campbell, Hannah Copeland, Mary Grace  Copeland, and Lucy Pearce) placed 8th overall out of 35! Congratulations to those girls.
Coach Krasowski reflects on the season, she says that the highlight of the season was during a practice when swimmers Bryce Ehinger, Scott Fairbank, and Daniel Paz started to cheer, unplanned at practice for underclassmen while they swam a hard set. Reflecting on the team’s chemistry, Coach Krasowski says “I believe that team chemistry played a big role in the team’s success not just at state but across the entire season.  This is the first year that I felt like it didn’t matter if you swam year round or what year round/summer team you swam for, when the team walked onto the deck they were ready to swim for PAGE.  Everyone worked together exceptionally well and it definitely paid off.”
