On Monday, October 21, our field hockey team had a tough defeat with the score of 1-0 against South Mecklenburg here at Page in the first round of playoffs. Although Page has had a pretty good season thus far, we are all very sad by this news. When asked about what happened out on the field, Katherine Moore stated, “I think that we played really well and played really hard. We had a great season, but we played against a very skilled team, but that didn’t stop us from trying as hard as we could.”
Even with a tough defeat, our field hockey girls have set a high standard for the next generation of girls. “I’m really proud of our team because we won the most games. A field hockey team has ever won at Page…and we all got really close this year, so it was just a really good year,” stated Sophie Nutt. Overall, our team has had a great season, finishing 13-4. Even when times were tough, they kept on going, and that’s what really matters.
