Student Of The Month: Elijah Diarrassouba

????????????????????????????????????

????????????????????????????????????

Senior Elijah Diarrassouba is December’s Student of the Month. Some of Elijah’s accomplishments include making All conference in football both his sophomore year and junior year, scoring his first rushing touch down at Friday November 20ths game, being inducted into National Honor Society, maintaining a 4.6 GPA while playing sports and getting scholarships offers to Wingate, the Army, and Davidson. He also works with troubled youth, which includes a 13 year old named Kevin Warren, who he has become a mentor for. When Elijah leaves Page he will miss his teammates the most. Coach Gillespie said, “Elijah is a very hard worker and has great character as an athlete, but as a student he is self motivated and maintains a good GPA.” His favorite part of high school so far has been being with his boys, James Ellis, Miles Faison, and Diondre Overton. When asked how he feels about being Student of the Month he said, “It feels great!” Mr. Abell, one of Elijah’s teachers said, “Elijah is a hard worker that questions the reasoning about the process, he has an analytical mind. As an athlete he is a leader by example, he’s a real leader.” Elijah wants people to know that he loves being with his friends and family. He loves working out; he would consider it to be his hobby. Being around people is something else he loves, although being dedicated and determined is just as important. Elijah encourages people to take advantage of all the opportunities that are presented to them and to live it up while they can because things only happen one time.

Congrats Elijah!

Update: Sunday, December 6th, Elijah signed with Appalachian State University to play football on their team next year.
