Unidad Club

Unidad+Club

Unidad Club is an identity and cultural club. This club was created to celebrate Hispanic and Latino culture as well as to find pride in its heritage. Ms. Montera and Mr. Estrada are in charge of the club. Ms. Montera said “Unidad means ‘Unity” which is how the name was created.” Unidad Club was invited to the State of Our Schools because Guilford County Schools as a whole was looking for an initiative to help the minority populations. Mr. Estrada said, “One student had not attended a full day of school in four months, but once he became part of Unidad Club he began to have perfect attendance. We have made progress because of the Unidad Club.” The amount of students participating in the Unidad Club and the impact its had on the students caught the attention of not only the State of Our Schools, but also the attention of administrators because of better attendance records and better overall grades. If you’re interested in being part of Unidad Club contact Ms. Montera or Mr. Estrada.
