February’s Students of the Month

The male student of the month for February is Dean Hutchison. Dean handles taking 5 AP class by setting aside time to complete all of his tasks and by making sure to stay organized. Dean says he makes sure to do this by “budgeting my time as well as making several lists to get things done. Being an AP student has also taught me that not everything I can do can be perfect, which set me back in the past, but now as long as I try my hardest I am able to be successful.” Dean manages to work at Harris Teeter on both weekdays and weekends as well as complete his academics. Dean said, “I usually work around 4 nights during the week and both days during the weekend. When I’m not at school, I am usually working.” Dean tries to stay very connected in the community through volunteer work. Dean explained, “I do a decent amount of work at a family friend’s church where he is the pastor. I help out with their weekly dinners for the homeless as well as various things around the church.” Dean is a part of many clubs. He is apart of Student Council Associates, Interact Club, the Teen Republican and Democrat Club, Service Learning Club, and Pep Club. Dean is planning to go to college after high school. He said, “I plan to go to college, however I am unsure where yet. I would like to do the pre-med track and eventually go on to medical school and become a surgeon.” Congratulations, Dean! We look forward seeing where life takes you in the future!

The female student of the month for February is Tierra Scott. Tierra manages her time by using a planner to make sure everything gets done. She said she does this by “writing my schedule for the week down and then completing the easiest tasks first.” While Tierra does not currently have a job she is on the lookout for a job. Tierra does a lot of volunteer work in the community. Tierra said, “Through the Greensboro Youth Council I volunteered at the Lebauer Park Grand Opening, where I was a part of the Ghoulash staff. This was a free event for children to come and participate safely in Halloween activities. Through this program I also continue to volunteer with various other events. I also volunteer at Elon, where I help out in a Kindergarten classroom by reading to them and helping them in small groups.” Tierra is a part of various clubs at Page as well. She is a part of National English Honors Society, National Honors Society, Spanish National Honors Society, and the Service Learning Club. After high school Tierra plans on attending college and majoring in Exercise Science to become a Physical Therapist. Good luck Tierra! We’re glad to have you apart of our Page family!
