Sign Up for the Career Cluster Fair Today

To celebrate National Career Development Month the Career Cluster Fair will soon be held. From 10:00AM-11:00AM on Wednesday, November 14, any student interested in learning more about possible choices for their future has the opportunity to meet guest speakers who will inform them of a designated career cluster area. This event, hosted in the media center, encourages students to think about their future and what choices could be fit for them.

During the event, display tables will be set up so that students have the chance to meet anyone with information on fields that they think may be fit for them. Most presenters are from local colleges such as Guilford Technical Community College, but some are from the Army or Marines. The fields range from Construction to Marketing and everything in between. Students are encouraged to wear business casual attire for the event and bring copies of their resumes so that they could introduce themselves to the presenters. From Guilford Technical Community College, presenters will be speaking about Transportation, Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM), and Construction. From Junior Achievement, the presenter will talk about Marketing. Guilford County Schools presenters will be speaking about Public Safety, Human Services, and Education. Students can also learn about Information Technology from the East Coast Polytechnic Institute. From Code Blue, the representative will talk about Human Sciences. U.S. Marines and U.S. Army representatives are both speaking about Government. A South East Carolina University representative is presenting Finance. The Resource representative plans on explaining Business Management. Also, a North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University representative is prepared to inform anyone interested in Graphic Design. Even if you are not interested in attending any of the schools that the presenters come from, you will still be able to get an insight into their career cluster.

You must sign up as soon as possible if you have any interest in the event, because the cut off for signing up is November 12. You can either visit Ms. Yancey’s office, Room 304, or follow the link provided, https://goo.gl/forms/ujJgkBsh5D5uxAsB3, to ensure your spot. If you follow the link, you will see a question that asks if you have taken a career cluster survey. These surveys, that are very easy to find online, could help you decide what careers you would like to look into during the event so that you make the most of your time. If you have any questions regarding the event, be sure to contact Ms. Yancey, Page’s Career Development Coordinator.
