May Student of the Month: Jake McArthur

May’s Student of the Month is Jake McArthur. Jake is a hard-working and friendly student. Jake takes several rigorous courses that he excels in, but also provide him with a challenge. He is taking IB Philosophy which he has a strong interest in and IB Math Studies which is more of a challenge, but he is still finishing strong with a high “B”. Jake also takes AP Chemistry and is doing very well despite it being a difficult class. Jake is also involved in extracurriculars such as SLAP club for service learning, and he used to run cross country his junior year. He is actively involved YoungLife and is the senior leader for the boys. Also, over the summer, Jake volunteered at the YoungLife camp, “Crooked Creek”, where he served on work crew for 2 weeks. Outside of school Jake has been a Chick-fil-A employee for about 6 months. He maintains his good attitude not only at his job, but all around school as well.
