Page High School conducted its yearly campus cleanup operation this week when students and teachers worked together to collect litter throughout school grounds. Students wore gloves and utilized trash bags. The campus clean up serves as a dedicated day when students and staff members work together to make the school environment more presentable while demonstrating pride in their educational space which they occupy for extended periods.
The entire world faces an issue with trash which also affects Page. The campus clean up event plays a vital role in maintaining school cleanliness because it teaches students to properly dispose of their waste, because they should recycle whenever possible. The campus clean up was implemented by various classes who decided to explore different campus areas which included parking lots, sidewalks, sports fields, and courtyards to collect every item they discovered.
The clean up operation received observation from staff writers Cohen Mundy, Aiden Scroggins, and Jameson Stout who reported on student activities during the event while assisting with the cleanup. Athletes, clubs, and classrooms joined together to participate in the event from various student groups.
Jackson Marriot, a Page baseball player who was seen helping during the clean up, shared his thoughts on the event. “Page has a great campus and I want to do my part to keep it that way.” The entire student body, including student athletes and organization members united to help maintain our campus.
The annual campus clean up resulted in success through collaborative efforts between students and staff members who created positive changes for their school community. The event not only helped clean up the campus but also helped build school pride.
