Pirates Split Soccer Matches With Rival Whirlies

The Pirates Varsity Women’s soccer team had their rivalry games against the Grimsley Whirlies on Wednesday April 26 and on Tuesday May 2thThe visiting Pirates led, by sophomore Tatum Neff with three goals in the game, won the first game in a 4-3 win. The game was played at Grimsley. The second game ended up as a loss for the Pirates. Tatum Neff and Caroline Fitzgerald led the Pirates with one goal each the game ended in a 3-2 loss for the pirates as they head for the playoffs. When asked how he thinks the team did overall in both games, Coach, Jim Pielow said, “We did good, I mean they are a good team; we took some shots that we just couldn’t get in the goal and unfortunately, couldn’t win both games. We did win the aggregate but I think this loss will help us in that knowing we can get beat and that we need to work harder for the playoffs. Next, is playoffs; let’s get it Pirates!
