The Page Pirates women’s tennis team started off the season with a win against Charlotte Catholic on 8/18/17. The final score was 5-4, with the Pirates on top in a close victory. Our next game was against Cardinal Gibbons on 8/19/17. The Pirates lost the contest with a final score of 0-9. This was a tough non-conference loss against a strong team in Raleigh. The team faced off against Myers Park on the same day, ending with another tough loss. The final score of this match was 0-9 again. This start put the pirates at a losing record early, but they hope to bounce back in their next few games.

The next game was against R.J. Reynolds. This match was played on 8/24/17, and ended with a final score of 5-4, with Page on top. All of our wins came off of the top 5 singles players. In their next match, the Pirates faced up against our schools rival, Grimsley. The Pirates won the match with a crushing score of 8-1! This win put the Pirates at a 3-2 record, and they hoped to continue there win streak to 3 in their next match against Northwest Guilford. In this match, the pirates beat Northwest Guilford with a final score of 7-2. This put the Pirates winning streak at 3, and they are facing up against the Ragsdale Tigers next.
