Mr. TyQuel Davis, the administrator for the class of 2028 at Walter Hines Page High School may be a little different than you would think. Mr. Davis was born and raised in a small town called Asbury Park, New Jersey. This town is located on the Jersey coast and he lived 10 minutes from the beach. There were about 140 students in his high school graduating class. He thought that high school was mostly fun but he did have several challenging courses.
His former jobs were being a 4th grade teacher, math and reading interventionist, a teacher’s assistant while he was living in Delaware, and an assistant principal. Mr. Davis wanted to take his current job because he has always
been a teacher at heart and he wants to expand his impact on teachers’ and students’ lives.
Mr. Davis wants his students to know that they can come to talk to him and tell him their feelings because he is there for them. He wants to see students grow and become more excited for school. One thing that Mr. Davis is excited to see Page this year is seeing how the 9th Grade Academy grows. He believes that his job would be a 9.5 out of 10 in difficulty because it takes a lot out of you and you must work a lot making you see your family less often. Mr. Davis feels appreciated for his job because he thinks that others know about the difficulty and importance of his job.
In his free time he likes to spend time with his wife and 3 sons going outdoors, playing football, traveling, and eating. He has been to many different places, some of which are New Jersey and Delaware for family, Florida, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Haiti.
