A senior walk is a tradition where graduating high school seniors walk through the halls of their old schools, sometimes elementary and middle schools, wearing caps and gowns while younger students and teachers cheer for them.
The tradition became more popular in the United States during the late 1900s and early 2000s as schools looked for ways to celebrate graduation and inspire younger students. The idea is meant to show children what they can achieve through hard work and education.
Many schools now organize senior walks as part of graduation week. Seniors often return to the schools they once attended, reconnect with former teachers, and serve as role models for younger students. In some communities, the tradition has expanded to include parades, family celebrations, or walks through neighborhoods.
Today, senior walks are seen as a meaningful way to reflect on a student’s journey from childhood to graduation while encouraging younger students to think about their own future goals. Today, Page High School students walked through the halls celebrating their accomplishments and inspiring younger students to follow their dreams.
