My experience
My experience at Woods of Terror this year was amazing. I have heard a lot of stories that it was going to be a lot scarier this year, and they were right. I went with 4 people, including myself. I was third in line, towards the back. I will always recommend being in the middle, because when you are in the front you get scared the most, and then when you are in the back, the actors scare you. One thing that you must not do when you are going through the maze is not touch the actors. My personal advice if you are scared when going through the maze is to not look straight at the actors. I always keep my head down and hold on to the person in front of me. Also, you should not run through the maze because the actors will run after you. Another thing is to stay with other people at all times and don’t let the actors see that you’re scared- be sure to have a smile on your face. These are just some tips that I have noticed. My favorite thing to do is taking pictures in the area before you enter the maze.
Behind the scenes
I have recently talked with one of the workers that work at Woods of Terror. After answering my questions, she gave me a few fun facts about behind the scenes. They have 2 hours to get the actors ready. All the makeup that is used is alcohol based. They even use an airbrush to do the makeup. Some of the actors prefer masks over makeup and some prefer makeup over masks. The reason they like the makeup better is because it looks more realistic, and you move your face freely. Some actors like wearing masks because they are easy to take off. The scariest person they have in her opinion is Stitches. That actor is a part of the clown room, is 4’9″, and jump scares. There is an actor who eats fire. When you work at Woods of Terror, you get paid at the end of the season and get it all in one big check. One of the newest parts of the maze is the insane asylum, which she says took about a year to set up. The minds area of the maze was the very first part to be built.
