The amount of new games coming in 2026 is insane. Multiple development teams and groups are making so many new games, and I just wanted to show you some of the more interesting games coming out this year. Links to their trailers will be at the bottom of this story.
INDIE: DEFECT- a cyberpunk multiplayer squad shooter, set in a dystopian world. where violence is everywhere. think of judge dread, but more violent and high- tech. RATING: M
INDIE: FPS QUEST- a game where your health is the frames of the game. you’re a gamer who died a lot in a fantasy game, you add mods that make things easier, bt lower your frames each time you are hit. RATING: T/M
INDIE: ILL- a game that was only in concept for almost 11(?) years finally has a chance of being made. a mixture of dead space, Resident Evil, and general feelings of melancholy courtesy of Russia. RATING: M
MAINSTREAM: RESIDENT EVIL: RE9UIEM- the NINTH installment in the Resident Evil franchise. the glorious return of Leon Kennedy, protagonist of RE2, 4, and 6. a new character joins the roster, Grace Ashcroft.
MAINSTREAM: WOLVERINE- Insomniac games latest Marvel game follows the 4’9 murder midget: WOLVERINE as he hunts down other mutants from Marvel. RATING: M
MAINSTREAM: 007: FIRST LIGHT- Follow James Bond as a young, resourceful, and sometimes reckless recruit in MI6’s training program, and discover an origin story of the world’s most famous spy. RATING M
MAINSTREAM: HALO: CAMPAIGN EVOLVED- the reimagining of the campaign of Halo: Combat Evolved. exclusive on Xbox AND PlayStation. RATING: M
