In a recent statement, Starbucks announced that the company is making some cuts to its menu with its less popular drinks. Starting on Tuesday, March 4th, several blended frappuccinos, such as the Royal English Breakfast Latte and the White Hot Chocolate are exiting the menu. On Monday Starbucks wrote, “These items aren’t commonly purchased and can be complex to make or are too similar to the other beverages on the menu. The Seattle-based company added that simplifying the menu will allow for the more popular drinks to be handcrafted with excellence. According to Starbucks, these cuts will reduce wait time, improve consistency, and make way to introduce more seasonal drinks such as the ‘Iced Cherry Chai’ to be revealed in the spring. Starbucks says that additional beverages and food will also exit the menu following next week. The following drinks will be removed from the menu following March 4th: Iced Matcha Lemonade, Espresso Frappuccino, Caffe Vanilla Frappuccino, Java Chip Frappuccino, White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino, Chai Creme Frappuccino, Caramel Ribbon Crunch Creme Frappuccino, Double Chocolaty Creme Frappuccino, Chocolate Cookie Crumble Creme Frappuccino, White Chocolate Creme Frappuccino, White Hot Chocolate, Royal English Breakfast Latte, and Honey Almond Milk Flat White. The CEO has also decided to lay off more than 30,000 “insufficient employees” to improve consistency within each store. Niccol stated that he had many goals for 2025, such as simplifying the menu and working for company staff, saying, “I’m committed to ensuring Starbucks is the unrivaled best job in retail.”
