At Page High School in Greensboro, students are part of a school community that values opportunity, diversity, and learning for everyone. As an Equity Plus school, Page focuses on giving students the support and resources they need to succeed. One group that helps bring that mission to life is the English Honor Society. This student organization celebrates a love for literature, writing, and literacy while encouraging students to share that passion with others.
This spring, the English Honor Society is organizing the 2026 Book Drive, running from March 1 through the end of April. Students are encouraged to donate not-annotated books so that others can experience the stories the way they were originally written. Some of the titles being collected include The Stranger, The Things They Carried, The Great Gatsby, A Lesson Before Dying, The Alchemist, A Raisin in the Sun, So Long a Letter, and An American Childhood.
Students who have these books at home can help give them a second life by donating them to the drive. All books should be dropped off in Mrs. O’Connell’s room, Room 404, where they will be collected and shared with future readers. Through the book drive, the English Honor Society hopes to spread the love of reading and make sure great stories continue to reach new students at Page High School. 📚
