Athlete of the Week: Oct 12-16

For the 9^th straight year, Page football defeated rival Grimsley Whirlies. Junior running back Javon Leake was named MVP of the Great American Rivalry Matchup. Leake finished with three touchdowns with 167 total yards and had no trouble shredding the opposing defenses. Javon has blinding speed that makes it difficult for any defense to catch him, and Friday was no exception. Javon displayed this in his two 35+ yard touchdowns that showed how tough he can be to catch up with. Javon loved the experience, stating “It felt good to beat Grimsley knowing that they’re our rival; the atmosphere was crazy and I stayed focused and did my job, I was happy that it helped lead our team to a win.” Friday was a great game by Javon, and a great win for the Page Football team. Go Pirates!!!
