This past Friday, December 4th, the Page Pirates football team defeated Middle Creek High School out of Apex to advance to the North Carolina 4AA Football Championship. The Pirates got off to a quick 14-0 start and the Mustangs found themselves in a hole they couldn’t seem to escape. The Pirates continued their dominant effort and handed the Mustangs their first loss of the year. The final score was 49-23 and in large thanks to a strong five touchdown performance by Page running back, Javon Leake.

This coming Saturday, December 12th, the Pirates will travel to Carter-Finley Stadium to take on the Mallard Creek Mavericks in the North Carolina 4AA Football Championship. The game will kick off at 12:05 and Page will be the visitors of the game with fans sitting on the East side of the stadium. The theme will be a blackout. Tickets will go on presale at $9 and can be purchased at the following times at Page: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday during all three lunches in the front office and Thursday from 4:00-6:30 at the Marion Kirby Stadium ticket booth. Only cash will be accepted, no checks. Tickets will be $10 at the gate on game day.

Several student buses will be offered and are free for students to ride to the game. To be eligible to ride the student bus, a student only needs to buy a presale ticket and turn in a completed permission slip by 2:00 on Friday. The buses will depart Page promptly at 9:30 on Saturday morning. For those driving themselves to the game, parking will be $10. So throw on a black outfit and be sure to come out and support your Pirates this Saturday in their effort to bring another state championship back to Page!
