Another Season in the Books

The Page girls’ lacrosse team had a successful season yet again with many highlights and great accomplishments. Unfortunately, the team’s 2016 season came to an end on Wednesday, May 4th. The girls traveled to Clemmons, NC for their first round playoff game against the West Forsyth Titans who boasted an impressive record of 15-4 overall and 3-2 in conference coming into the game. The score ended at 11-6 after a hard fought battle between the Pirates and Titans.

The team was led this season by senior captains, Casey Catherine and Ashley Kerr. They were the lone two seniors on the team this year. With six freshman, seventeen sophomores, and two juniors returning, the team will be loaded with young talent next season including multiple starters returning. The hopes are high for next season as this one concludes. We asked Casey Catherine, “How would you say your senior season went and what are your expectations for the team next year?” The senior captain answered with this, “I wasn’t expecting us to win many games this year because we were such a young team. I was extremely surprised of how great we did this season, and how this was the first year we were able to play in the conference and state tournament! It was such a great experience to be able to play this year, and I’m looking forward to seeing what opportunities they get next year!”
