Pirates to Play Under Thursday Night Lights Once Again

After all of the football games that had been rescheduled this season, the last thing anyone expected was to have Senior Night not on the usual Friday night. However, the weather is to remain unfriendly to football season, pushing tomorrow night’s game forward to tonight in lieu of rain. Although the weather might change the date, the game will remain the same, entailing a 7:30 Thursday night throw down between Page and Ragsdale under the lights of Marion Kirby.

Entering the game, the Ragsdale Tigers hold a strong record of 7-3, but have gotten beat by opponents which the Pirates were victorious against on the field. The Tigers were blown out by Dudley(42-7) and also lost to Grimsley(34-21), both games which the Pirates won by at least a two touchdown margin(although the Dudley game was later forfeited).

In terms of yardage statistics, the Pirates top the Tigers in all of the significant categories. Offensively, the Pirates are averaging 171 rushing yards a game to Ragsdale’s 91, and 136 passing yards compared to Ragsdale’s 75. For those doing the math, this means that the Pirates nearly double Ragsdale’s offensive yardage, with the totals coming out to 307 and 166. Defensively, expect the Pirates to remain dominant as they have all season, getting their usual four sacks and high number of tackles.

Although its on a Thursday, the Pirates still enter into tonight with the upper hand, playing the game at Marion Kirby, winning against common opponents, and eclipsing the Tigers in all of the tell-tale game forecasting statistics. Expect a crowded and energized Marion Kirby to fuel the Pirates on Senior Night, leading to their last regular season this year.
