The Juniors Dominate the Seniors in the Annual Powderpuff

The Page High School Juniors dominated the Class of 2017 last Wednesday night, October 5th during the annual powderpuff game. The Powderpuff game, this year, was designed to raise money for the Susan G. Koeman Cancer Foundation. All proceeds made by ticket sales went to this foundation in support of those affected by breast cancer here at Page High School.  The game is put on by the Page Interact Club lead by social studies teacher, Mrs. Goins. The game is known for the crazy outfits worn by the male cheerleaders as they cheer on the girls playing flag football.  The final score was a whooping 40-0. Nicolette Robinson, a junior at Page, was asked how she felt about the unity of the team and she responded, “We had a really strong bond compared to the senior team because they were arguing the whole time and we had fun which was the whole point and that led us to winning.” Nicolette scored an astounding 3 touchdowns. The seniors were obviously disappointed since it was the first time in several years that the seniors have lost. Lizzie Barnhart, a Senior, said, “It was definitely disappointing but it was still so much fun and a great memory I’ll have forever.” Although the seniors lost, they could not blame their amazing head coach, Harper Chiles, who is a member of the Page Varsity football team. When asked how it felt being a coach of the losing team, Harper stated, “Oh you know it was pretty cool to be the coach and pretty fun meeting new people and stuff. I probably didn’t do the job quite right on Wednesday night but you know everyone had fun so that’s what it was all about.” Congratulations to the juniors and we cannot wait to see who will dominate next year in the Powderpuff game!
