Doctors of Tomorrow

Doctors of Tomorrow

The Doctors of Tomorrow club serves as a place where aspiring med students at Page High School can meet with peers who have similar goals. The club makes sure that it is a safe place and teaches members basic information about various jobs that they can take and healthcare.

Amiyah Staples, founder and current president of D.O.T.S. Amiyah created the club herself in her Junior year. She leads all meetings and plans all activities. Amiyah didn’t create the club solely because she wanted it more pleasing for her college resume. There are about 20-35 people in the club as of now and Amiyah would love for anyone to join!

Being in the Doctors of Tomorrow club can boost your college resume. You can showcase your ability to make a difference in society whether it’s inside or outside of Pages walls and coming together with different people. It helps tie together students’ love for helping others and wanting to pursue a career in medicine.

Recently, they did a baby supply drive where they collected necessary baby needs such as bibs, bottles, wipes, diapers, baby nail clippers, onesies, socks, hats, etc. They gathered about 105 items which were all donated to the Pirate Pantry. At first, they were going to split the donations with the Women’s Hospital but because of COVID, the hospital doesn’t take those items anymore.

In addition to supply drives, D.O.T.S also will be partnering with the phycology club and perhaps talk to Mr. Naglee and the school board about having a supply of narcan more available at school for students who have overdosed. As Guilford county is said to have some of the highest overdose rates, D.O.T.S is trying to help prevent this problem from occurring so much. In the new year, the club will possibly have some guest speakers come in and try to help students find shadowing opportunities!

The Doctors of Tomorrow club meets every second and fourth Tuesday in Mr. Copeland’s room and would love for anyone who is passionate about giving back and wanting to become a medical student in their upcoming years to join the club!
