Page Field Hockey Looks To Rebound

The Pirates field hockey team is led by senior captains Anna Sardzinski, Lauren Fitzpatrick and Isabella Lauver, as well as Junior captain Lucy Froelich.  Coach Lance Wood is returning as head coach for his second year at Page, and he aims to make it a remarkable one.  The Varsity Field Hockey team opened their season at Marion Kirby Stadium against East-Chapel Hill on August 24th, but dropped that game 7-1.  The team continued their season on August 29th against R.J. Reynolds at home, but lost a close game in double overtime by a score of 1-0.  On September 5th,  the Pirates took on their longtime rivals in Grimsley High School. The game was played away, and the Pirates lost by a close score of 3-1.  The Pirates goal was scored by sophomore forward Evy Hochstein.  The team then traveled to played Cardinal Gibbons, losing by a score of 9-0.  The Pirates are currently (0-4), however the team has only played one conference game giving them a conference record of (0-1).

Looking Ahead — The Pirates take on Chapel Hill, Monday, September 11th as they search for their first victory of the season.
