Pirates Start New Season Under Coach Rolfes

The Pirates’ football team is coming off a great season last year making it to the State Championship.  This season, the Pirates are without longtime head coach Kevin Gillespie, who has taken a coaching position in Asheboro.  The Pirates are now led by Coach Jared Rolfes. Coach Rolfes is happy to be with the Pirates this season, Rolfes says, “Joining the Page family has been exciting. Nothing has been ideal about the amount of time we had to put everything together but the administration, Coach Lee, the staff, and players have been great.   We are currently 3-1 and have played some very tough games. We are experienced in some areas and not in others coming in, but each week those new guys are getting better and making plays they need to for us to be successful as we keep progressing forward. Page football is special, the most storied program in the triad and one of the best historically in the state. I consider it a blessing and an honor to lead the Pirate program.”
The Pirates are 3-1 this season, with victories over Davie, Northern, and Eastern Guilford.  The Pirates have suffered one loss this season to Dudley.  The Pirates take on Reagan on Friday, September 15, at Reagan.  Go Pirates!
